GJIS held an event called National History Day: Turning Points in History in which all year eight students chose a topic of interest to research and create a display for. Many different topics were chosen, from the Black Plague, invention of Agriculture to 9/11 Attacks on America and Pearl Harbour.
The students all presented their work in the Theatre wings were it was also judged under a number of categories, including Interdisciplinary subjects, such as Technology link, Science link, Arts link. The project is based upon student inquiry as the topics and scope are left up to the students themselves.
This event was a great first for GJIS and I hope that it continues in the future. Thanks to Pak Arthur and his Humanities Department team for organising this!
